Westmorland is one of the most recent major hillside subdivisions developed in Christchurch city, with building starting in the 1970s. The suburb sits next to Cashmere, on the Port Hills, and is on the edge of the urban area, with many rural vistas across the Canterbury Plains. The majority of homes in Westmorland are split level and architecturally designed, to make the most of the elevated position and beautiful views.
